Qingdao is a key economic and
coastal opening city in China. The city holds its economic position with its
increasing economic strength, expanding trading port, advanced marine
technology, and famous brand names. In 2004, Qingdao won the awards of “Most
Vigorous City in China” and “City for Entrepreneurs’ Best Satisfactory”.
Located in the eastern coast of China,
the city enjoys its unique scenery of the red tiles, green trees, azure sky and
blue sea. Qingdao Beer, famous the world over, even makes the city closer to
Germany with its pure German flavor. Qingdao will host the Sailing Regatta of
the 29th Olympic Games in 2008.
Recent years has witnessed booming
exchanges between Qingdao and Germany in economy, culture, and other fields.
Germany is the largest trading partner of Qingdao among EU countries. Each year
there are high-level mutual visits between the two sides. (Li
